You’ve probably tried most of the other conventional ‘diets’ out there, do something different this time, something that gives you the best chance of real sustainable change. As your LighterLife Counsellor, you’ll find me loyal, kind and hard working, I can give you the tools to manage yourself differently, in a world saturated with high calorie food.
I’m not here to judge – I know how hard it can be to let go of body fat and maintain a healthy BMI. I have empathy with all of my clients, whether they have 1 or 15 stone to lose. LighterLife is not just a diet, it’s a programme with the key to understanding yourself and the complex relationship you have with food.
I’ve been delivering the LighterLife programme for 8 years now (to a very high standard) and I’m currently doing my Advanced TA Psychotherapy training because I believe that continuous professional development is the key to keeping my group work fresh, current and it helps me to help my clients work more effectively.
What makes my job special is seeing my clients achieve the dreams they had come to believe were impossible. Many of my clients have been yoyo dieting for years and had almost given up hope of living the life they want to lead. I feel very privileged to be able to accompany them on their journey, and I never tire of experiencing the joy with them when they finally realise their goal and let go of the weight.
For most of my clients weight is not the problem, it is the symptom. This doesn’t necessarily mean that there is some deep seated trauma in their past, but it does mean that until they fully understand why they use food/alcohol in the way they do, and then work out how to change, they will be locked into ‘diet cycle’ of yo-yoing between being ‘on’ or ‘off’ a diet. Awareness is key, in order to change long term we must have awareness. Then we have a choice and an opportunity to change.
I have an M.Sc; B.Sc Hon’s in Pychology; Cert Ed, TA 101. Btec National Diploma in Weight Management Consultancy.
